The Rethink Plastic alliance welcomes the precautionary approach proposed by the EU’s new roadmap for a framework for bio-based, biodegradable and compostable plastics. Policy is necessary to guide a reasoned shift towards sustainable material sourcing, resource-efficient consumption patterns and ensure the transition to circularity and material prevention are prioritised.
